The Used Truck Association called its 15th annual convention a success, pushing paid membership in the association to 1,000 members. There were 735 attendees and the convention brought in record sponsorship revenue from the Vendor Expo portion of the event.

The three-day event included a vendor night, workshops, the UTA Truck laboratory and a keynote speech given by former NFL quarterback Joe Theismann. The event concluded with an awards dinner recognizing those within the used truck industry who made notable contributions in the past year.

There were peer-nominated awards for Dealer Member of the Year. The winners were Grady Shaner from Country Truck Sales, Steve Clough of Arrow Truck Sales, Roy Vaughn of All State Peterbilt and Trevor Pasmann of Kenworth Sales Company. An award was also given out in the vendor member category to Jessica Berens of Premium 2000+.

The Lifetime Achievement Award given to Marty Crawford of Volvo Trucks Remarketing and UTA President Emeritus for his dedication and outstanding contributions to the UTA and the used truck industry.

“UTA membership is at an all-time high,” said Rick Clark, UTA president. “What we really want to focus on and provide is education and the convention, especially with the support of truck and engine manufacturers, is the greatest source for that.”
