Penske Truck Rental donated $318,118 to the Paralyzed Veterans of America at the charity’s offices in Washington D.C. The funds were raised during Penkse’s #OneWay4PVA campaign for paralyzed veterans.

The campaign to raise money for the organization began on Memorial Day in 2013 and ran for a year through Memorial Day in 2014. Penske’s one-way moving customers were given the opportunity to donate a dollar to the charity on their truck rental bills and Penske matched the donations dollar for dollar.

Paralyzed Veterans of America is a congressionally chartered charity dedicated to the benefit and representation of veterans with spinal cord injury or disease. Penske supported the group at several events including its annual Paralyzed Veterans Golf Open, Mission: ABLE Awards Gala, and the National Wheelchair Games. Penske also provides trucks to the Paralyzed Veterans Racing Team to transport their racing equipment.

“This donation is possible because of the generosity of our truck rental customers and the efforts of our associates to promote the program,” said Art Vallely, executive vice president of operations at Penske. “We thank [them] for joining us in support of this program.”
