Eaton named Gerard DeVito vice president of technology for the Vehicle Group. The promotion will be effective on Nov. 1, 2014.

DeVito will be based in Galesburg, Mich., and will be responsible for leading and directing engineering activities for the Vehicle group and ensuring that financial, growth, productivity and technology objectives are met.

He has been with Eaton for 27 years and served as the director of next-generation transmissions for Eaton’s North America Truck group. His first position with the company was in engineering. He later moved into market development and regional sales positions.

DeVito earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University.

“Gerard’s technical and engineering experience with Eaton will serve the Vehicle Group business well in his new role,” said Ken Davis, president of the Eaton Vehicle Group. “As we work to develop and commercialize new technologies to help our customers solve their most challenging issues, Gerard is ideally suited to lead the teams that will deliver our next generation of breakthrough technologies.”
