The asset-light and logistics service provider, Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Cudahy, Wisc., has acquired Yes Trans, a refrigerated truckload service provider based in Salisbury, Mass.

Yes primarily transports meat and produce between the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast.

The purchase price was approximately $1.2 million. The buy could cost up to another $1.1 million, based on the performance of Yes. The acquisition was financed with Roadrunner’s cash on hand.

During the 2012 calendar year, YES generated approximately $5 million in revenues. It will be folding into Roadrunner’s existing refrigerated location.

The purchase is reportedly the latest of about 20 made by Roadrunner since it went public a little more than three years ago.
