Two carriers serving the less-than-truckload markets have announced general rate hikes.

Michigan-based Central Transport implemented a rate increase averaging 5.9% effective July 15.

It says the impact may vary depending on specific lanes, length of haul, and shipment characteristics such as weight or class.

The rate increase is applicable to non-contract shipments moving on two pricing programs.

Texas-based Central Freight Lines has announced a general rate increase of 5.9% across the board effective July 29. It says the hike is applicable to non-contract shipments.
