11/13/2009  APRA Posthumously Recognizes Hill As Honorary Member

The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association posthumously honored Mike Hill, past chairman, with APRA's Honorary Member Award on Nov. 1 at the opening session of the 2009 International BIG R Show in Las Vegas. His wife, Kathy Hill, accepted the award on his behalf.

Hill was general manager of Precision Rebuilders, St. Clair, Mo.

During his time as chairman of APRA in 2006, he was nominated and served as the Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group chairman. In this role, he pushed for the group to be a key part of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week. In addition, he volunteered as a regional director and chairman of APRA's Heavy Duty Brake Division, and was a long-time active member of the association.

During HDAW's inaugural year, Hill received the Heavy Duty Remanufacturer of the Year award, which has since been renamed in his honor and is now called the Mike Hill Heavy Duty Remanufacturer of the Year Award.
