iBank.com has introduced the SmartWay Finance Center, an online resource to connect truckers with SmartWay-certified products and match them with a nationwide network of financing sources.
The site features trailers and tractors; automatic tire inflation systems; low rolling resistance tires; and idle reduction technologies including thermal storage systems, fuel operated heaters, battery powered air conditioning systems and auxiliary power units. These technologies, designed to reduce gas consumption and cut emissions, typically cost between $8,000 and $15,000.
After a potential buyer chooses a product, he or she submits an application to the vendor, while interested lenders are identified at the same time. Buyers can apply for financing online, by phone or e-mail, to receive competitive rate and term offers from lenders. The purchaser can then choose a lender to work with.
"The visionaries at the EPA get it: give truckers 24-hour access to their web site to locate SmartWay-certified vendors and a network of financing resources for an exceptional user experience," said Tom Markel, iBank CEO. "Now, we are getting government and private enterprise to work together to make lower emissions happen and create a greener earth."
SmartWay has just renewed iBank's contract to provide the service for three more years.
