John Wensel, owner of Wensel's Truck and Car Repair, was named 2008 Truck Service Expert of the Year at Truck Pride's 25th Annual Membership Meeting in Tucson, Ariz.
The honor was based not only on Wensel's promotion of the Truck Pride program and backing of Truck Pride regional training, but also on the growth of his business with national, regional and local fleets.
Wensel has more than 25 years of experience in the repair industry, serving truck, trailer and auto customers. While Wensel's Truck and Car Repair is based out of Spring City, Pa., he is also able to network with Triple R Truck Parts in Eddystone, Pa., through Truck Pride. He owns a second shop in West Chester, Pa., and he's looking to add a third.
His history in the trucking industry goes back to when he was 16, learning to drive a tractor-trailer. After picking up the trade from his family, Wensel went on to automotive/diesel school. Following graduation, he ended up at a refrigerated trucking company. He served at both the family business and national fleet levels before establishing Wensel's.
