Freightliner Trucks has announced the beginning of a two-year sponsorship of Legendary Motorcars' Dream Car Garage television series on cable's Speed channel.
As part of the sponsorship, Freightliner's heavy-duty Coronado will be the official transporter truck of Dream Car Garage and Legendary Motorcar for the 2006 and 2007 broadcast seasons.
Additionally, the Freightliner Coronado will also be the official vehicle for two one-hour specials to be shown in the 2005-2006 season.
The Freightliner Coronado tractor, a 70-inch Raised Roof SleeperCab model, will be prominently featured as the official transporter of cars throughout the Dream Car Garage series, appearing during the opening montage animation for each show and serving as a backdrop for location segments.
The 132-inch BBC (bumper-to-back-of-cab) Coronado blends the traditional styling of a heavy-duty conventional truck with new engineering innovations and advancements that enhance comfort, ride, handling, fuel efficiency, productivity and safety. The Freightliner Run Smart logo will appear on both the tractor and an accompanying trailer, along with the Dream Car Garage graphics. The Dream Car Garage and Legendary Motorcars web sites will also feature a link to the Freightliner Trucks home page.
In its seventh season, Dream Car Garage focuses on classic and exotic car restoration and performance.
The first special is called the Small Block Shoot Out, featuring four small block pony cars representing the street versions of legendary Trans Am cars that raced across North America during the 1969 and 1970 seasons. The Small Block Shoot Out will trace the evolution of pony cars from each manufacturer, as well as their involvement in the Trans Am series, including interviews the experts and drivers and vintage race footage. Co-host Peter Klutt will drive the cars in performance tests and Tom Hnatiw will narrate.
The airdate is scheduled for Oct. 17 on the Speed channel.
