Jerry W. Adams of Simpsonville, S.C., with more than 27 years of commercial driving and over 1.75 million miles driven, was named the 2003 South Carolina Driver of the Year.
Adams is employed by BI-LO, LLC in Mauldin. He also is an active member of the South Carolina Road Team. He speaks to schools, civic organizations and driver safety meetings around South Carolina. Adams was chosen over many excellent truck drivers in the state because of his record of safe and courteous driving.
Adams was one of 12 "Drivers of the Month" that were considered for the Driver of the Year award.
The South Carolina Trucking Assn. is a trade association with 750 members.
