Ports of Seattle and Tacoma Agree to Alliance

The ports of Seattle and Tacoma voted Aug. 4 to formally launch the Northwest Seaport Alliance, which unifies the cargo operations of the two Northwest ports in a bid to attract more cargo to the region.

Seattle, Tacoma Ports Form Alliance

The Seattle and Tacoma port commissions plan to unify the management of the two ports’ marine cargo terminals and related functions in order to strengthen the Puget Sound gateway and attract more marine cargo for the region.

Flammable Cargo Prohibited on I-90 Between Seattle and Mercer Island

Flammable cargo will be prohibited from traveling in both directions of I-90 inside the Mount Baker tunnel and the Mercer Island lid until 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. The same restriction will go into place from the evening of Friday, Sept. 20 through the morning of Saturday, Sept. 21.

Pilot Project at Port of Seattle to Demonstrate Diesel-to-Natural Gas Engine Conversion

Omnitek Engineering has been selected by the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency for a pilot project to demonstrate its diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion technology for drayage trucks serving the Port of Seattle, Wash., in support of the Port's Clean Truck Program.
