The first quarter earning reporting season continues with Knight Transportation and Old Dominion Freight Line reporting healthy increases in revenue and profit, with Landstar nearly hitting a record and UPS continuing to prove why it’s the biggest trucking operation in the country.

Con-way, ODFL Offer First Quarter Performance Preview

The parent of the less-than-truckload operation, Con-way Freight, recently provided an update on first quarter trends of this part of its business, ahead of it releasing first quarter financial results the first of May while competitor Old Dominion Freight Line did the same just before a freight transportation summit in Chicago last week.

Con-way, ODFL, Roadrunner Report Financial Results

Three more carriers released their earnings reports. Con-way's fourth quarter profit took a big decline but was up for the year, while Roadrunner Transportation broke through the $1 billion revenue barrier in 2012 and Old Dominion Freight Line posted record numbers.
