Long Beach Switching Heavy Fleet to RNG From LNG

The City of Long Beach (Calif.) has transitioned its heavier vehicles to run on renewable liquid natural gas (RNG) and is discontinuing the use of fossil liquid natural gas (LNG) to reduce emissions and fuel costs, according to the agency.

CARB Tightens Fuel Emission Rules

The California Air Resources Board has opted to “readopt” a Low Carbon Fuel Standard that requires a 10 percent reduction in the “carbon intensity of transportation fuels” by 2020.

Supreme Court Lets California's Low-Carbon Fuel Rules Stand

Overshadowed by the Hobby Lobby decision, the U.S. Supreme Court Monday turned aside a challenge to California's low carbon fuel standard, which a coalition of energy, farm and trade groups claimed illegally discriminates against fuel produced outside of the state.

California’s Low-Carbon Fuel Standard Upheld

A three-judge federal panel on Wednesday upheld California’s controversial and first-in-the-nation law requiring fuel-makers to reduce carbon, that detractors say will lead to higher prices for diesel and gasoline.
