After a five-day unfair labor practice strike at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, striking port truck drivers voted unanimously to agree to a “cooling off” period late Friday after it was requested by L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Expiration of West Coast Ports Contract Brings Surge in Imports

With West Coast longshoremen still negotiating a new contract, retailers are bringing holiday merchandise into the country at record levels to protect against potential supply chain disruptions, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker report released Wednesday by the National Retail Federation and Hackett Associates, a maritime research and consulting business.

NLRB Charges Trucking Company with Dozens of Labor Law Violations

The National Labor Relations Board is charging a California trucking company committed more than 50 labor law violations against its drivers. The action is against port trucking company Green Fleet Systems, which hauls containers in and out of the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach.
