Ford: Moisture in Cooler Causing Loss of Power in F-150 EcoBoost Engines

Customer complaints about loss of power with Ford’s EcoBoost V-6 engine in its F-150 pickups, reported by the general news media over the Memorial Day weekend, stem from moisture accumulation in the trucks’ charge-air cooler, Ford Motor Co. says. Dealers have been informed of a fix and will do the work under warranty.

GM, Ford, Toyota Top Vincentric’s 2013 Best Fleet Value List

Chevy Express/GMC Savana G1500 and G3500 vans were among ‘top-value” GM vehicles, according to Vincentric, an automotive data analysis firm.

General Motors, Ford and Toyota lead the list of Best Fleet Value vehicles from Vincentric, a privately held automotive data compilation and analysis firm headquartered in suburban Detroit.

Ford, GM to Jointly Develop Multi-Speed Transmissions

Ford and GM plan to jointly develop a new generation of advanced 9- and 10-speed automatics for cars, crossover and sport utility vehicles, and trucks.

Multi-speed transmissions were once reserved for heavy trucks, but 8-speed automatics are now available in automobiles and pickups, and soon there’ll be even more ratios.
