FHWA Approves 2 Rhode Island Truck Tolling Stations

A truck-tolling project in Rhode Island, fought by the trucking industry, has received a federal go-ahead. It's expected construction of the first two electronic truck-only tolling locations on Interstate 95 will begin in January.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has unveiled a plan to reduce traffic congestion in the New York City are by automating tolling of eight bridges and two tunnels.

ATA Warns Rhode Island on Policing Truck-Toll Dodging

The American Trucking Associations has weighed in on the battle over truck-only tolling in Rhode Island by cautioning the governor against banking on revenues from the proposed tolls that are “premised on truck restrictions that are currently disallowed by federal and/or state law.”
