Major Florida Interstate Project to Begin in 2015

Work is set to begin in early 2015 on the Florida Department of Transportation’s Interstate 4 Ultimate construction project. The project will revamp a 21 mile section of Interstate 4 in Central Florida from Orange County to Seminole County.

Portion of I-49 Completed in Arkansas, Louisiana

The final segment of a new Interstate has been completed connecting the cities of Texarkana, Ark., and Shreveport, La. The 10 mile segment of road will be designated as Interstate 49 replacing what was Highway 549 in Arkansas.

The amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry rose 0.4% in April from March, increasing for the third consecutive month, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Freight Transportation Services Index released Wednesday.
