So Cal Port Truckers: Inspection Program Causing Congestion

The California Trucking Association recently came out against a new chassis equipment inspection process at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, saying they are causing congestion problems for truckers.

Canadian In-Transit Shipments Closer to Resuming in U.S.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance said an agreement between the Canada Border Services Agency and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection service has been reached to restore carriers’ ability to conduct in-transit movements of Canadian domestic shipments through the United States.

US-Canada Call For Review of Empty Trailer Repositioning Rules

A progress report on facilitating cross-border business travel released yesterday by Canadian immigration minister Jason Kenney, public safety minister Vic Toews and US Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, signals a willingness to consider long overdue changes to the way the two countries deal with the repositioning moves of foreign empty trailers, according to the Canadian Trucking Alliance.
