Knapheide Brings European Upfitter to U.S. Market

Knapheide has signed a partnership agreement with Gruau to distribute the European upfitter’s commercial van products in North America. The agreement will cover distribution of Gruau’s IsoVan product line and retractable crew seating systems.

Mercedes-Benz Introduces Super High Roof Sprinter

Mercedes-Benz will begin offering two new variants of its full-size Sprinter van for the 2015 model year, including a super high roof model and a Super Single heavy duty model.

Mercedes-Benz Vans announced that it will invest about $500 million to build a new van plant in Charleston, S.C., to build the next-generation Sprinter van for the North American market.

Mercedes-Benz launched its Metris mid-sized commercial van for U.S. and Canadian markets. The Metris is a re-branded version of the Vito van, which is sold globally, that has been tweaked for the North American market.

Mercedes-Benz Midsize Van to Debut at Work Truck Show

ProMaster City is a beefed-up, Americanized version of the Fiat Doblo van.

Following on the success of the Sprinter van in the U.S. market, Daimler plans to introduce a mid-size van sometime next year. The van made its debut in Berlin, Germany, in late July, but Daimler execs were coy on an actual release date for the American version of the van, saying only that it would be introduced in the fall 2015 in a MY 2016 designation.
