The state of California commissioned a report by CalTrans to look into the viability of a mileage-based tax on all vehicles to eventually replace the tax on fossil fuels.

California Sets Dates for Freight Mobility Plan Workshops

California’s Department of Transportation, known as Caltrans, will host eight public workshops between June 17 and July 24 to solicit input on the draft California Freight Mobility Plan, which lays out a vision for all the ways freight is moved, including seaports, air cargo, railroads, and trucking.

Caltrans Completes 90 Miles of I-80 Improvements from Auburn to Nevada

Caltrans has finished rebuilding 90 miles of I-80 between Auburn and the Nevada state line, infrastructure improvements that included rebuilding seven bridges, improving lighting and drainage and adding new traffic monitoring systems.
