Much More Iowa Fuel Contains Biodiesel

A new report from the Iowa state Department of Revenue says biodiesel made from plant oil or animal fat is blended with more than 42% of all diesel sold in the Hawkeye State.

Biodiesel Board Goal: 10% of Diesel Market in 10 Years

The National Biodiesel Board announced a new goal Tuesday during the Biodiesel Conference & Expo in Las Vegas: 10% of the on-road diesel market by 2022. The Diesel Technology Forum has signed on to help the industry get there while making sure engines are protected.

Congress Votes to Reinstate Biodiesel Tax Incentive

The U.S. House Tuesday reinstated the biodiesel tax incentive for 2012 and 2013 as part of a year-end fiscal package that avoided the so-called "fiscal cliff." President Obama is expected to quickly sign the bill into law.

Petroleum Industry Files Suit Challenging Biodiesel Mandate

UPDATED -- The American Petroleum Institute, which represents the petroleum industry, is suing the Environmental Protection Agency, challenging its mandate for the use of 1.28 billion gallons of biodiesel in 2013, a 28% increase from the 2012 requirement.
