Ford Starts 2015 F-150 Production in Kansas City

Ford has begun production of its 2015 F-150 pickup at the Kansas City Assembly Plant about four months after it began building aluminum-body trucks at its Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan.

Ford Trains 8,000 on Aluminum F-150 Production

Ford is putting 8,000 of its workers through an intensive training program to ensure everyone knows how to work with the new materials, such as aluminum panels,in the 2015 F-150 full-size pickup at its Kansas City Assembly Plant.

[UPDATED] The electricity powering Volvo Trucks' North America’s New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, Va., is now carbon neutral thanks to a switch to renewable fuels to produce power.

First Aluminum F-150 Rolls off Assembly Line

Ford has built its first aluminum-body 2015 F-150 pickup truck, and production of the vehicle is now underway at the 100-year-old Ford Rouge Center in Dearborn, Mich., an event marked by the appearance of Bill Ford and other dignitaries.

Volvo Group’s New River Valley Plant Achieves Zero Landfill Status

Volvo’s New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, Va. has achieved zero landfill status at its truck manufacturing operations. Waste generated by the facility, which manufactures all Volvo trucks sold in North America, is now recycled, composted or converted to electricity.
