ORLANDO – An electronic logging device, a driver security system and a new driver wellness app were among a series of brief trucking product and service announcements Saturday ahead of the official start of the American Trucking Associations’ annual Management Conference and Exhibition.

ORLANDO — In a sometimes-lively educational session at the American Trucking Associations 2017 Management Conference & Exhibition Saturday, a panel of regulatory, enforcement and fleet personnel fielded questions on enforcement and other aspects of the electronic logging device mandate that goes into effect Dec. 18.

FMCSA Issues Two Narrow ELD Exemptions to All Carriers

Having decided to grant part of a United Parcel Service request for a limited 5-year exemption from some provisions of the electronic logging device mandate, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will now allow all motor carriers — not just UPS — and drivers to make use of two new temporary exemptions from the ELD rule.
