A Volvo Trucks demonstration at the huge Bauma construction show in Germany.

An impressive 530,000 visitors from over 200 countries converged on the Messe München exhibition center in Munich, Germany, between April 15 and 21 for the giant construction equipment show, Bauma, where there were also plenty of vocational trucks on display.

Study: Most Distracted CV Drivers Are Distracted During Risky Maneuvers

The top 5% distracted drivers of commercial vehicles are distracted 79% of the time during risky driving maneuver. That's nearly six times more often than the rest of the drivers, according to the initial results of the SmartDrive Distracted Driving Index study, which explores the distracted driving rate of commercial fleets.

CVSA Takes Issue with ATA Call for More Traffic Enforcement

March Trailer Orders Down, Cancellations Negligible

Net trailer orders for March were down 6% month-over-month and 12% year-over-year. This update on industry performance was reported in the latest State of the Industry: U.S. Trailers published by ACT Research Co. “Although orders are down, the orders being placed appear genuine, as cancellation activity has been negligible for most trailer categories,” said Frank Maly, director-CV Transportation with ACT Research.

ATA Truck Tonnage Index Increased 0.9% in March
