Court Upholds Mexico Pilot Program

UPDATED- A federal appeals court upheld the Obama administration’s pilot program for long-distance trucking across the U.S.-Mexico border. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit denied petitions by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association and the Teamsters union to declare the program illegal.

Swift Earnings Increase Due to Pickup in Truckload and Intermodal Operations

The multi-service trucking provider Swift Transportation saw an increase in both earnings and revenue during the second quarter of the year. The Arizona-based operation posted a profit of $42.9 million compared to $33.7 million from the same time a year ago.

The I-80 Challenge is a multi-state awareness and high-visibility enforcement effort to encourage all drivers to drive safely on the Interstate 80 corridor and to support the efforts of the law enforcement officers. The challenge runs from July 24 to July 31.

Prime Launches Military Fast Track Campaign in North Carolina

At the beginning of 2013, an estimated 844,000 veterans were unemployed and looking for work, including 252,000 post 9/11 veterans. According to the White House report, “Fast Track to Civilian Employment,” there is somewhere between 240,000 to 360,000 service members who separate from the military each year.
