C.R. England Opens IdleAir Facility at Laredo, Texas, Terminal

C.R. England has opened a new IdleAir facility at its terminal at 8422 Amparan Road in Laredo, Texas. The 24-space IdleAir facility provides C.R. England drivers with in-cab services that provide heating and air conditioning, Internet connectivity, television, and 110-volt electrical, completely eliminating the need for idling.

GAO Highlights Shortcomings in CSA Program

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s CSA safety enforcement program has been successful in some respects but needs improvements, says the Government Accountability Office. CSA has helped the agency expand its reach, among other benefits, but because of data shortcomings it is not as strong a predictor of crash risk as it could be, the watchdog agency said.

Paccar Reports Record Revenue for Last Year

Paccar has installed more than 51,000 of its MX-13 engines in Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks in North America since the start of production in 2010.

Paccar, the parent to truck makers Peterbilt and Kenworth, reported record revenue of $17.12 billion in 2013 compared to revenue of $17.05 billion the year before.
