Volvo Trucks Introduces Interior and Exterior LED Lighting

In-cab LED lighting is now standard across Volvo Trucks’ North American vehicle lineup. Optional LED headlamps, designed for better visibility and longer life, are now available for the Volvo VNL and VNX. Both the LED interior lighting and LED headlamps are available for order.

Volvo Begins Construction of Customer Experience Track at New River Valley Plant

Volvo’s New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, Va., are constructing a Customer Experience Track, set to open during the third quarter of 2014. Volvo Trucks Announces XE11 Fuel Efficiency Package for 11-Liter Engine

Volvo Trucks expanded its XE powertrain package lineup with the introduction of XE11 for its 11-liter Volvo D11 engine. XE11 is available on Volvo VNM and VNL models and rated up to 80,000 pounds GCWR. The powertrain package improves fuel efficiency by up to 3%, according to the company.

DME: An Alternative Fuel that is Coming Soon

Volvo Trucks North America believes dimethyl ether, or DME, is the real fuel of the future, and the company intends to get it to market as a motor fuel by 2015 in Volvo VN models as well as Mack Pinnacle trucks from its sister company.
