TMC Sets 5-Year Goals, Names ‘Spark Plug’ Honorees at Big Annual Meeting

The Technology & Maintenance Council of ATA opened its annual meeting and exposition in Nashville yesterday evening by announcing healthy attendance and describing goals set by a Strategic Planning Committee. Officers also named seven recipients of the Silver Spark Plug award for service to the organization.

The founder and CEO of ATDynamics on Sunday said that to reporters on the eve of the opening of the Technology & Maintenance Council’s annual meeting in Nashville, Tenn. It was his latest briefing since he launched the fuel-saving folding-panel device in 2008.

Dana Sunday introduced a new tandem rear axle product and stronger drive- and inter-axle shafts, and said certain axles are now available on Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. Executives described the products the day before TMC’s annual meeting opened in Nashville, Tenn.

Hadley SmartValve Saves Fuel, Time and Eases Driver’s Work

Hadley Products of air horn fame has introduced a multi-function height adjustment valve for tractor air suspensions. Called SmartValve, the device combines several components into one housing, and is said to solve major fleet challenges of driver shortages and increased fuel costs.

Phillips Industries has introduced what it calls the cure for the most common warranty complaint with 7-way tractor-to-trailer electrical connections -- complete loss of electrical function on the “blue” circuit.
