The Cheater Wrench from DT Industries allows anyone driving a truck or other heavy-duty vehicle to remove their lug nuts and change their own tires. The Cheater Wrench is a torque-multiplying tool with a 78:1 turn ratio, making it easy to overcome the recommended 500 or so foot-pounds to which wheel lug nuts are supposed to be tightened.

Bridgestone Americas Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Bridgestone Corp., has completed its Agro Operations Guayule Research Farm in Eloy, Ariz. The research farm will supply guayule biomass for rubber production at the company’s BioRubber Process Research Center, which is currently under construction in Mesa, Ariz.

Apollo Tyres Ltd.'s friendly takeover of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is not so friendly anymore. On Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, Cooper filed a complaint in Delaware Chancery Court asking that subsidiaries of Apollo "be required to expeditiously close the pending merger between the two tire companies in accordance with the terms of the definitive merger agreement."
