Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. on Tuesday announced its net income in the final quarter of 2014 skyrocketed above the level from the same time a year earlier, hitting $2.13 billion.
Meritor has developed a larger trailer axle said to be stronger but lighter than its current 5-inch-diameter tube-type product. The MTec6 experiences less bending at the wheel end and better tire wear, and cuts out 40 pounds of material.

Drive axle inflation systems might not be the Holy Grail of truck maintenance, but they are in a position to cure a vexing problem. Tire pressure maintenance is time-consuming and costly, but there's no debating the savings from properly inflated tires. At least four manufacturers have systems in development. At least one is already available.
Bridgestone Commercial has designed and launched a new website for its Dayton line of commercial truck tires.
