Odyne’s advanced export power system replaces dedicated generators on trucks. Scalable pure sine exportable power of up to 6kW or greater is available from the Odyne plug-in hybrid drive system for medium- and heavy-duty trucks. It provides power from the hybrid battery system to power large electrical loads, equipment and tools.

Powers Distributing, Lake Orion, Mich., was the first company to buy a significant number of diesel-electric hybrid trucks using the Eaton Hybrid Power System. That may seem like a big jump for a relatively small fleet, but the 74-year-old company has a deep commitment to social responsibility and that includes sustainability.

Odyne Systems, which makes hybrid systems for large trucks, will be able to deploy more than 120 plug-in hybrid work trucks for municipalities and utilities, thanks to a $45.4 million U.S. Department of Energy award.

Organizers of The Work Truck Show, held earlier this month, announced this week Odyne Systems, of Waukesha, Wis., has won The Work Truck Show 2013 Green Award for an advanced hybrid commercial vehicle it developed with ComEd in Chicago.
