Kapsch TrafficCom has received notice to proceed from the New York State Thruway Authority to develop, install and provide technical support for an all-electronic tolling system. This new system eliminates the need for Thruway drivers to stop or slow down at tolling points.

The New York Thruway has installed the first-in-the-nation Doppler-radar-enhanced LED signs to alert wrong way drivers before they enter the Niagara Expressway, also known as I-190, at the southbound exit 9 off-ramp in Buffalo.
