Navistar Hit With $30.8 Million Judgment in ProStar/MaxxForce Lawsuit

Navistar Inc. disputes allegations that it didn’t thoroughly test its MaxxForce EGR engines – allegations that surfaced in a lawsuit where a jury last week awarded $30.8 million in damages – including testimony about the engine program by former executive Jim Hebe that the company "did not test s**t".

International DuraStar, WorkStar Get 9.3-Liter SCR Diesels

Navistar has started customer shipments of its International DuraStar and WorkStar trucks with the company's 9.3-liter diesels fitted with selective catalytic reduction emissions-aftertreatment equipment.

International TranStar

The test truck was the International TranStar in the new nomenclature - 8600 in the past. But the other new badges, high on the side of the hood, told the story: MaxxForce. This tractor was one of the International validation units for the new big-bore engines, destined for a high-mileage fleet to get fast results before the engine becomes commercially available around mid-year.
