Forward Air Corp’s. motor carrier subsidiary, FAF Inc., is raising owner-operator pay effective Jan 4. The contractual base rate will increase by 10 cents per mile for team less-than-truckload and truckload express service, while rates for solo truckload express drivers will increase by 6 cents per mile.
The trucking operation Forward Air Corp. announced its subsidiary, Central States Trucking Co., has purchased substantially all of the assets of Multi-Modal Trucking Inc. and Multi-Modal Services Inc., based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Less-than-truckload carrier Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has announced a 29.5% increase in third quarter net income totaling $77.9 million.
Revenue for the quarter increased 10.5% to $193.4 million from $175.1 million a year earlier. Freight revenue, which excludes fuel surcharges, increased 11.1% to $157.7 million.
The trucking operation Con-way Inc. has reported 2014 third-quarter net income of $45.6 million, or 78 cents per diluted share.
