The parent to several trucking companies YRC Worldwide has announced it has closed on the financing of a new $700 million term loan and a $450 million asset-based loan.
Less-than-truckload carrier Averitt Express started offering this month climate-controlled services in self-contained, self-powered LTL shipping units. These units can be combined with dry cargo and other climate controlled units.

Third party logistics provider and freight brokerage operation C. H. Robinson Worldwide says it plans to change its focus following its release of fourth quarter earnings.
Forward Air announced Thursday that it has compelted its planned acquisition of all of the stock of Central States Trucking and Central States Logistics from Central States Inc. following news that it was making the purchase last month for $95.6 million.
Truckload carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services has reported fourth quarter 2013 net income of $1.29 million or earnings per share of 15 cents and 2013 net income of $5.91 million or earnings per share of 68 cents.
Less-than-truckload carrier Old Dominion Freight Line has released numbers showing revenue for the fourth quarter of 2013 increased 11% to $592.5 million from $533.8 million for the fourth quarter of 2012.
Trucking and logistics provider Con-way has reported 2013 fourth-quarter net income of $11.7 million or 20 cents per share, compared to a year ago performance of $11.8 million or 21 cents per share.
