C.R. England, one of the nation’s largest refrigerated carriers, celebrated the opening of a new terminal in Colton, Calif., Wednesday, and announced the addition of 10 new liquified natural gas powered trucks to the company’s Southern California fleets.
At a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Colton, Calif., of its new 34-acre terminal, C.R. England welcomed the local community, providing tours of what is now the second largest facility in the company's network. C.R. England also announced the addition of 10 liquified natural gas trucks, which will operate out of the Colton terminal.

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association and the trucking company C.R. England have reached a settlement in a case regarding compliance with federal regulations governing the leasing relationship between motor carriers and truck owner-operators.
The trucking company New England Motor Freight has agreed to pay $870,500 to settle a federal class action lawsuit that it failed to get proper authorization from truck drivers before checking their credit reports and then later denying them employment.

Effective June 1, company drivers at the Missouri-based ACT will receive a 1 cent per mile pay increase for all miles. Independent contractors will receive 3 cents per mile more for all miles, moving it up to $1.03 per mile.

Less-than-truckload carrier Old Dominion Freight Line on Tuesday increased its outlook for growth in second-quarter revenue per hundredweight, excluding fuel surcharges, to a range of 3% to 3.5% from the same time in 2013.
Gloria Werner, one of the co-founders of the trucking company Werner Enterprises, died on May 20 at the age of 79.
