YRC Worldwide Inc. cut it second quarter net loss to $4.9 million, or 16 cents per share, from $15.1 million, or $1.72 per share, from the same time a year ago.

The asset-light trucking and logistics service provider, Roadrunner Transportation Systems, has reported a small increase in its second quarter profit while revenue gained 36.6%.

Less-than-truckload carrier, Old Dominion Freight Line, posted a 19.1% increase in its second quarter revenue while profit gained by a wider margin.
Trucking company and logistics parent Con-way Inc. has reported second-quarter net income of $53.7 million, or 93 cents per diluted share. This compares to second-quarter 2013 net income of $42.9 million, or 75 cents per diluted share.
