Volvo’s New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, Va., are constructing a Customer Experience Track, set to open during the third quarter of 2014. The track will feature a 1.1-mile paved road course and an off-highway area, allowing Volvo to showcase its entire Class 8 lineup during customer tours and other events.

Love’s Travel Stops opened a new travel stop in Bloomsdale, Mo., on I-55, Exit 157, on Thursday, Nov. 21. The Bloomsdale Love’s includes 78 truck parking spaces, Chester’s Chicken and McDonald’s restaurants and a Love’s Truck Tire Care center. The location is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Travel Centers of America LLC has agreed to acquire 31 convenience stores with retail gasoline stations for $67 million, before closing costs and customary working capital adjustments. The seller is a private company which operates these stores under its proprietary brand name Minit Mart.
Landstar System Inc. officially broke ground on its new orientation center in Ft. Worth, Texas. The new 12,000 square foot facility in Ft. Worth will be almost double the size of the current orientation center in Grand Prairie, with new and improved truck parking and more restrooms, work and dining space and computers for Landstar Business Capacity Owners.

Love’s Travel Stops has opened a brand-new facility in Clayton, N.M., on Hw. 87. The raze and rebuild replaces the Love’s that opened in Clayton in 1974.

ASF Intermodal announced the opening of the company’s newest intermodal drayage facility in Chicago, the firm’s first location in the Midwest. The new Chicago terminal is located in Rockdale, Illinois and is the first of several Midwest terminals ASF Intermodal plans to open over the next 12 months.
