‘Fool’ Web Story Notes Cummins-Peterbilt SuperTruck MPG Number

Except for highway wrecks, it isn’t often that the general news media get interested in big rigs. But one online outlet, www.fool.com, now has a story about the SuperTruck project, specifically the Peterbilt-Cummins vehicle recently displayed in Washington, D.C., for President Obama’s announcement about fuel economy standards for commercial trucks.

Diesel Forecast for 2014 Drops to $3.73

Falling Brent crude oil prices has once again lowered the projected average price for diesel in 2014. The U.S. Energy Department’s Energy Information Administration’s new Short-Term Energy Outlook expects diesel fuel prices, which averaged $3.97 per gallon in 2012, are projected to average $3.91 per gallon in 2013 and $3.73 per gallon in 2014.

Diesel Prices Drop Again

Diesel prices continue to slide this week as the national average dropped to $3.83 per gallon, which is down 2.5 cents from last week and 14.8 cents from last year at this time.

Diesel, Gasoline and Oil Prices Expected to Move Lower

Diesel prices this year are expected to average slightly less than they were last year and continue moving lower next year, according to a new forecast.

Diesel Forecast Moves Lower

A new government report is predicting diesel prices will be lower than a previous forecast, due to an expected decline in the price of oil along with other factors. The U.S. Energy Department’s Short-Term Energy Outlook says after averaging $3.97 per gallon last year, on-highway diesel prices are expected to average $3.90 per gallon this year.
