Continental Announces 3 New Tires

MATS, LOUISVILLE -- Continental has rounded out its next generation of long haul, low rolling resistance EcoPlus truck tires by adding a new steer and all-position tire. The Conti EcoPlus HS3 offers a 10% reduction in rolling resistance as well as a 125 increase in mileage over the previous generation long haul steer tire.

Continental Announces New Truck Tire Products

Continental announced that the HTL1 wide single truck tire is now available as a ContiTread retread. In 400 millimeter tread width, the HTL1 can be retreaded for fleets who operate wide single drive or trailer tires in sizes 445/50R22.5 and 455/55R22.5.

Preventing Flat Tires

A driver picks up a trailer from a drop yard. Before departing, the driver does a walk-around inspection, kicks the tires, checks the lights and then sticks it into the wind. He or she has no idea how much air pressure is in those tires, except to be fairly sure none of them is flat — visibly flat, that is. Any one or several of those tires could be underinflated, or even technically flat.
