In a “change of operations” filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, ABF parent company Arkansas Best said it had already eliminated eight facilities in the second half of this year, with the rest still yet to close.

UPDATED--The Teamsters ABF Master Negotiating Committee voted Wednesday that in light of the overwhelming vote against authorizing a strike against ABF Freight, the company's last proposal for the Central Region Local Cartage Agreement would be accepted. As a result, the ABF National Master Freight Agreement is now fully ratified.
In a vote of 70% to 30%, a majority of Teamsters Union membership covered by the Central Region Local Cartage Supplement has chosen not to authorize a strike at less-than-truckload carrier ABF Freight.
