This pro-electronic-log video from The Trucking Alliance talks to fleet management and drivers about the benefits of electronic logging devices, or ELDs. The video was posted in January, but with last week's unveiling of the actual ELD proposal, it's worth another look.

This is a joke you guys put this video together. but you forgot the cost how much is costing every month.why would I wanna pay monthly dues with this economy still in effect plus the cost of a newer truck for arb ...with my opinion you can take it and shove it where the sun don't shine !!

this sounds awesome. since we are leveling the playing field , when can i expect my fuel, tire and maint. discounts to take effect. when i pull into a truck stop, no parking, and no time left , what then. maybe Steve will come out and help. Oh, never mind, i'll start looking for a place after 8 hours and just piss the rest of the day away to be safe and secure. when we have these and it's coming , too much money has been spent for it not too, please don't insult folks with a brain and tell us it was for our own good. tell us it was exactly what it is. a way to crush the little companies. shame on all you members of the trucking alliance and the officials you have bought.

ELD would hurt the small trucking company's big time. The cost of it number one, plus you need to pay monthly for subscription. But the bigger problem is, drivers would be forced to drive in BAD WEATHER conditions due to mandated ELD. Hope this NEVER passes.

I just wonder how many of these rules and regulations are thought of by people who most likely can not even START a truck let alone DRIVE it down the highway!

It really doesn't matter if you like it or not. What does matter is when will you stop working 70 hours for a 40 hours paycheck?
