Daimler Vans USA is recalling 2,278 2015-2016 model-year Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vans because of inaccurate tire pressure labels, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The vans in question were manufactured from April 29 to December 15 in 2015. Their tire pressure labels indicate a higher maximum load capacity than the vehicle is designed for, NHTSA said. As a result, owners might overload them and risk axle or tire failure.

DVUSA will notify the van owners, and Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner dealers will replace the incorrect tire pressure labels. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall is expected to begin this month.
