FCA US is recalling 1,655 2014-2015 model-year Ram 1500 diesel 4x2 pickup trucks, so dealers can address a potential electrical-short problem that can lead to stalling and pose a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The recall covers trucks manufactured from Aug. 8, 2013, to July 2 of this year. In these vehicles, a battery harness may rub against the frame bracket for the right engine mount, resulting in an electrical short.

Dealers will make an inspection to confirm that the battery harness is correctly routed and secured. Any harness that shows signs of wear will be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge.

Truck owners can reach FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) US at (800) 853-1403. The manufacturer’s number for this recall is R43.
