Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 650 model year 2009-2014 Western Star 4900 vehicles manufactured May 27, 2008 through March 22 of this year.

A National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin says this is due to a possible defect in how the seatbelt is anchored and it may not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

DTNA will notify owners and dealers will correct any problems, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin by November 3. Owners may contact DTNA at 1-800-547-0712 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.

The recall number is FL-645.
