Prime inc. recently honored drivers Herman Knight and Steve Rowan for achieving 3 million miles of safe driving.

The accomplishment, which takes drivers years of hard work and a strong commitment to safety, requires a driving record free of preventable accidents or incidents, noted the company announcement.

Knight and Rowan were presented their awards at the 10-year celebration dinner for Prime employees. Each driver received a check for $5,000, a 3-million-mile leather jacket, a decal for their truck, a lapel pin, a jacket patch, and a plaque with their name and likeness on the wall of fame in Prime's Millennium Building.

Based in Springfield, Mo., Prime has equipped its trucks with "state-of-the-art collision safety systems," said Don Lacy, director of safety. "That's an investment we have found well worth making because it protects not only these driving professionals but everyone on the road.

"We are honored to have drivers like Knight and Rowan who exhibit such high levels of professionalism and dedication to safety," said Lacy.
