In the aftermath of Hurricane Rita, Texas has delayed by 30 days the implementation dates of its new boutique diesel fuel.

Texas Low Emission Diesel is similar to CARB diesel in that it must have a minimum cetane level of 48 and a maximum aromatic content of 10 percent. The original implementation called for producers and importers to comply beginning Oct. 1, 2005, with bulk plant distribution facilities beginning Nov. 15, 2005, and retail fuel dispensing outlets and all other affected persons beginning Jan. 1, 2006.
As a result of a governor’s executive order, each of these compliance dates will be delayed by 30 days. For more information, visit www.truckline.com/rita/fuelwaivers or contact Rich Moskowitz at (703) 838-1910 or rmoskowitz@trucking.org.
