Boeing Shared Services Group employee Mark Koruga has been named 2003 Driver of the Year, Private Carrier, by the Washington Trucking Assn. (WTA) and the Washington State Patrol.

The annual awards recognize drivers in six industry categories who have achieved an outstanding safety record and consistent excellence during their driving careers.
Koruga has been employed with Boeing for more than six years and has nearly 30 years of experience as a professional truck driver and Teamster member.
Koruga's has driven more than 2 million miles without an accident and is a member of the National Safety Council's Two Million Mile Club. As a safety monitor and member of the Boeing Licensed Transportation safety council, he actively promotes safety awareness within the company. He has also taught defensive driving classes for the trucking industry through the Evergreen Safety Council in Seattle.
This is the third time in five years that a Boeing employee has won a Driver of the Year award. Boeing drivers also won in 1999 and 2000.
