The Truckload Carriers Assn.'s (TCA) Safety and Security Division Meeting takes place May 18-20 at the Bay Point Marriott in Panama City, Fla., with a number of high-ranking speakers on tap.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator nominee Annette Sandberg has been invited to address the group and answer questions about FMCSA issues and pending regulations affecting transportation, especially the new hours of service rules due out by May 31.
Other speakers include a presentation by former NASA Commander and Astronaut Rick Searfoss who will explain how to build a company-wide safety culture and how to defend your program in the midst of tragedy.
The meeting will close with an address by Robert Thomasson, program manager for the federal Drug Interdiction Assistance Program, entitled "Terrorism: Do You Know What a Terrorist Looks Like?"
The TCA Safety and Security Division Meeting will also feature a 10,000-square-foot exhibition hall with new products and opportunities for networking. Educational workshops include such topics as "Reducing Driver Turnover from the Beginning," "Driver Performance: From Motivation Techniques to Incentive Programs...and Everything in Between," and "U.S./Canadian Customs -- What's New."

TCA is the only national trade association whose collective sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry. The association represents dry van, refrigerated, flatbed and intermodal container carriers.
