International Highway Transportation Safety Week, designed to promote motor carrier highway safety throughout North America, has been scheduled for June 2-7. The event will pay tribute to the people, programs and partnerships that enhance highway safety.
The Federal Highway Administration’s Office of Motor Carriers and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance are asking organizations to participate in the 1997 event. Last year, more than 65 states, territories, Canadian provincial agencies, Transport Canada, Mexico and the FHWA held such events as safety inspections and outreach efforts and presented several certificates of appreciation.
