The American Moving and Storage Assn. has recognized six van lines and independent moving companies in the seventh annual AMSA Moving Industry Safety Awards program.
The winners were:
* Lowest DOT Recordable Accident Rate (up to 10 million miles) — Apollo Van Lines, which has won in this category for the sixth time in seven years with zero accidents.
* Lowest DOT Recordable Accident Rate (10 million to 55 million miles) — Graebel Van Lines.
* Lowest DOT Recordable Accident Rate (more than 50 million miles) — United Van Lines.
* Fleet Safety Improvement Award (up to 10 million miles) — Interstate Van Lines.
* Fleet Safety Improvement Award (10 million to 55 million miles) — Global Van Lines.
* Safety Initiative Award — Global Van Lines for “Reconstruction of the Safety Department.”
