Dec. 9 – Louisiana is publicizing a toll-free number for cell phone callers to reach state troopers to report bad drivers.
A driver can reach state police by pushing the star key, then LSP. Within an average of 10 minutes, a state trooper or a sheriff’s deputy can respond, talking at all times with the caller to get the exact location.
The insurance industry is paying for seven huge billboards along Interstate 10 from Baton Rouge to Lake Charles to publicize the number, which has been around for several months.
